The Môn a Menai project aims to promote community well- being by improving green spaces in those communities.
It is one of our more recent schemes and we will be working in up to 10 areas across Anglesey and the Arfon area of Gwynedd to transform residential areas so that they are more pleasant places to live, work and visit.
The project focuses on environmental improvement through volunteer activity as well as work placements for unemployed 16 to 24 year-olds. It is hoped the project will not only restore green spaces but also give people valuable work experience in the environmental sector.
Ultimately the project aims to enable a greater sense of community wellbeing and empower communities to improve the quality of their local surroundings. It is also hoped that Môn a Menai will lead to an increased appreciation of the local area and a stronger connection with the natural environment.
The project is funded through the Welsh Government’s Enabling Natural Resources and Well-being in Wales Fund (ENRaW).
